Premature ejaculation, or PE, is the infamous bedroom party crasher. If you struggle with finishing too quickly, know that you aren't alone: 30% to 40% of men experience PE at some point in their lives.

A slew of things contribute to PE, from a super-sensitive penis to getting stuck in your head during sex.

Of course, some pills can make this little problem go away...however, they don't address the root of the problem. And, relying on medications to enjoy sex can seem like a bit of a life sentence. There are a ton of strategies you can use to help fix your PE before resorting to pills (you can learn about them in my course).

So, What is Premature Ejaculation?

Let's start with what is considered premature ejaculation. There's no time limit for how long a guy should last. There's no universal rule that says how quick is too quick. With that said...

PE typically means you can't control how fast you finish, and it's causing some serious frustration and dispiriting. In most cases, this is within 1 minute of penetration. PE can take a toll on you and your partner's intimacy, not to mention your confidence in the bedroom.

1. Beets

Beets are one of the most loved foods that make you last longer in bed. How could this be?

Beets contain a ton of nitrates that help the penis maintain pressure and stay erect. Research shows that beets also help with high blood pressure and hypertension - two common reasons men struggle to stay hard.

2. Oyster

I think we can all agree that oysters aren't the sexiest-looking food.

Be that as it may, my male clients ask me all the time: Does eating oysters make you last longer? The answer is...yes and no.

Oysters contain half the daily zinc requirements, which, as mentioned before, is crucial in the testosterone production process. They're also great sources of magnesium, iron, and selenium; most of the compounds that improve sexual performance and arousal are found in oysters. Oyster's sexual benefits are clear, but they won't magically make you last longer if you're suffering from psychological PE.

 

3. Banana

Turns out, bananas have more use in the bedroom than teaching the world how to wear a condom. Bananas and testosterone are linked, making them one of the best foods for premature ejaculation.

Bananas have a large amount of bromelain, an enzyme known to support testosterone production. Their potassium content supports the muscles that make erections possible, and a high fiber keeps blood sugar at bay.

 

 

4. Honey

No, we're not talking about those little packets of mystery "honey to last longer" at convenience stores that claim to be nature's Viagra.

Actual honey has a vasodilatory effect that helps erections stay stronger for longer. It can also enhance testosterone levels, improve libido, and increase sperm production.

So, does honey make you last longer in bed? It can certainly help.

Ever wonder why chocolate is the romantic go-to gift?

Dark chocolate is another nitric oxide producer. Its flavonols are what give dark chocolate aphrodisiac qualities, increasing the blood flow and help get things moving.

Yohimbe

Yohimbe comes from the bark of African evergreen trees. In one study, 34% of participants had improved erections after a month of treatment.

This natural remedy for premature ejaculation is another nitric oxide producer, and it also works in another way. Yohimbe blocks alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in the body. In other words, it promotes the release of norepinephrine and serotonin.
